A FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS
Southern Scents Candles Inc. is a family owned business located in the quaint little town of White, Georgia. It was started by 2 sisters and their husbands in August of 2000. The oldest sister Beth is a retired educator from Bartow County Schools. The other sister Barbie remains in Criminal Justice for now. Both families wanted to create a home-based business for a little extra income. It remains in the basement of the oldest sister’s home in the hopes of cutting overhead to produce a reasonably priced, highly scented, candle product.
The business began with 15 fragrances in 2000 from a sister company in North Carolina (Star Brite Candles) and has expanded to 75+ scents today. Southern Scents Candles Inc. is known in Northwest Georgia for the fundraising opportunities it offers to local schools, churches, travel ball teams, cheerleaders, and any other group that needs to raise funds for their organizations. Word has spread over the years and groups from Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee having sold Southern Scents Candles for fundraisers. There is still NO retail store yet…………maybe someday????
OUR CANDLES
Southern Scents Candles continues to sell candle products at local arts and craft shows, county fairs, and fundraising events such as Relay for Life, Save Sun Valley Beach, school Fall Festivals, Spring/Winter Art Markets, etc. Our products continue to be HAND POURED, labeled, and packed. The number one product is our 8 oz. jelly jar candles. They come with white lids for that “southern charm” and compact container. They have approximately 40 hours of burning time with the jars and the tins. The newest product is the 6 oz. cube packs for any candle warmers. These offer approximately 30-35 hours of wonderful scent.
